Tammy,

SSI does take into consideration your spouse's income, whereas SSDI is based
on your work record and independent of your spouse. With SSI, you usually
can only have $2000 in the bank, and it comes with Medicaid. Because you're
living with your spouse, they will take that and his income into
consideration. But you can also bring in all of your bills--rent/mtge,
utilities, (not auto), prescriptions, medical costs, etc... and that does
help offset his income.
