According to all that I've read on the internet and to my pharmacist...it takes 4 weeks for it to start working. It is unlike most other drugs, even if other drugs are also slowly built up.

Lamotrigine takes several weeks for the full effects to come on. Though it is usually well tolerated, lamotrigine has one important side effect: a rash
The part about the rash ...is quite scarry.
