Susan,
I drive all the time. I'll never be seizure-free, but my doctor and I have established certain rules for me and for when a seizure happens. I do take myself off the road for a few days and use public transportation. The last time I stopped for a month and re-arranged my work schedule.
I didn't drive when I was first diagnosed for 2 years. I think the best thing to do is talk to your doctor, and make sure you have a great relationship. I know that can be difficult.

IF I ever drive again after being seizure free for a year.....what if I cause an accident and hurt someone because of an unexpected seizure.......could I be charged because of driving with epilepsy, even though a doctor supposedly cleared me?
That is the only thing scaring me IF I ever drive again. Thanks. I live in NJ
