So sorry you're having such a rough time, Elizabeth. I'm very fortunate. My seizures have all been complex-partial and I have always had plenty of warning with my aura. If I were you, I would definitely look into the VNS. I know two people who have them implanted, and they have been very helpful. Not 100% effective, but helpful for sure. I had a meeting with two VNS reps a few days ago (not for me; but for some folks I encounter from time to time), and they explained how the newest model responds to the changes in heart rate just before a seizure. You could talk to your neurologist/epileptologist about it; or you could contact your state's Epilepsy Foundation for contact information.

Hi Everyone,
2016 was a terrible year...just non-stop seizures. I mostly have complex partials, but had a few gran mals. Last Thursday I had 2 where I don't recognize where I am or anything around me. Luckily, I've had these before, so I knew just to stay calm. Work has been stressful, which is causing the seizures. I need to learn how to manage stress better. I am now 3 years into not driving, so that's not helping either.
Those of you that have VNS or RNS...is it helpful?
Sara--are you on Keppra? That causes balance issues.

Come in and let us know how you are doing.
Good experiences, bad ones or anything epilepsy related.
My newest type of seizure is sort of 'staring seizure' but I know I am staring. I just can't bring myself out of it.
My other type is where I almost lose balance. It is like when you almost trip over something but catch yourself. I don't usually fall or lose consciousness in those.
Although I do at times have types where I think I lose consciousness for a second or so.
