hi Cheryl, welcome to fast five. I have been doing fast five for quite a while and for me it was a while before I found out what works best for me.
my window is also 11am to 4pm but I am flexible. for example, today I am having lunch with a friend at 1pm.
when I first started, it was difficult and I stopped and started a couple of times. now, I have no desire to eat any other way. I have one meal per day during my window and maybe a small snack later. I eat whatever I want. some days I eat breakfast which I love and some days just a sandwich and chips. I almost always have dessert (which I also love). I do try to eat mostly real food and as little processed food as possible. as I said, I don't stress. if I want something (like chips!) I do it.
I feel great and have lost 30 lb since last oct. I was losing 1 lb per week and I think I hit a wall. during June I was drinking soda and didn't lose any weight at all. now I limit soda to one or two per month.
anyhow, I hope this gives you an idea of how it can and does work. everyone is different and I think you have to find what works for you.
