RE: [epilepsy] Petite Mal Syndrome

Hello,

Glad you posted and spoke: thou, this is a fourm where we all-have 'Epilepsy'.
Note: medicine reactions are different to everyones body' but when we feel this: and most medications come with this warning, with-in minutes of you realising tell" Family or a trusted well-known Friend.
you can also call: 911' thou - over the counter medication: isn't as effective as a prescribed medication.
note: I have been taking' KEPPRA 500mgs:
but the Doctor you see: will know exactly what is for the type of epilepsy - after he has condected tests, on you.
talked to family about any history of epilepsy in the family' or not.
but I will say this: I once saw a Doctor who incorrectly prescribed-me a medication: the reactions were instant.
"my parents took me to the nearest fire-station, and a paramedic instantly looked-up in a medical book: causes of the reactions.
they tested my blood-preasure' gave me: M&M's after noting, it would help with the reaction the medication caused.
note-also' every month when I get my medications refilled: they come with the warning's listed, KEPPRA- can give me that suesidel thought feelings, but..but.. I have not & I'll say' "not! that type of reaction.
if I would feel that way' 911' a family member is who I would seek.
be honest and fare with-your self' seek a real Doctor, if the doctor has not consulted or agreed with the OCD - it's not for you.
reactions can normally take-effect, from minutes after taking any medication' and upto 3 days of being in our bodies.

my prayers for you.
listen to the list owner: get help...

Hi Kevin

My thoughts are with you.. My son has epilepsy and the OCD - I guess that
is me. The OCD gets in the way oftentimes, but that is part of my make-up
and makes who I am. It has many positives too - I do not kid myself -
there are many advantages to that as well. Everything in life is a pendulum
swinging back and forth. In my opinion, OCD is not comparable with the
challenges of epilepsy and no doubt the person with epilepsy has the biggest
challenge. As a dad, I suffer from the fact that I cannot do anything to
correct the epilepsy - I would give anything and do anything to change the
epilepsy factor.

Please stay strong and try to not have thoughts of hurting yourself. Talk
to your family - they may not know/see it. Even with the struggles (and
there seem to be way too many than necessary these days - especially when
health is concerned) our lives are indeed worthwhile. I was devastated when
I heard the health aspects of my son at age 5, but would not give one moment
up. not one split second. He is approaching 30 years old. The rough
epilepsy ride makes up his life and mine. I wondered if he did not have the
health issue, would he be the fine, beautiful person he is. I love my son
for who he is - epilepsy and all - how strong he is and I stand tall beside
him. I need him. I have no doubt your family feels the same.

I am not on the internet much but am glad you visited the forum - we have
some good people here. Please talk with your family and friends.

Harry

This is supposed to be an online support for people with epilepsy.
I was born with a Teratoma in the right side of my brain, following brain
surgery I developed Petite Mal Syndrome. I am on 360mg a day of Dilantin for
Petite Mal Syndrome I am having a terrible time dealing with the suicidal
thoughts caused by Dilantin, I am on 10mg a day of Zyprexa and 80 mg a day
of Prozac to fight these thoughts.I was also born with major OCD.a guy who
has both Epilepsy and OCD got me kicked out of the OCD online support group.
Would appreciate hearing from any one dealing with the side effects of
Dilantin used to treat Petite Mal Syndrome
Thank You,
