Hi Lori,
I live just north of Chicago. I had my left femoral lobectomy at Rush Hopital in Chicago which is 40 minutes east of Naperville (mostly highway). They have 4 terrific epileptologists! Rush Hospital regularly does surgeries concerning epilepsy. They would be the place to go. Most definitely I would suggest your friend go there and see the epileptologist Dr. Andres Kanner, he specializes in surgery. He isn't a surgeon, he determines by evaluating tests people looking into surgery for epilepsy if they are candidates or not. He travels the world doing lectures, has written books also concerning epilepsy. Look his name up on the Internet. All the epileptologists there have patients who have been in your daughters shoes.
If I can help your friend in anyway I would be happy to email or talk with her. I can give you my phone number to pass on to her, email me at stephenpales@yahoo.com or she can email me also. I hope what 've said helps you Lori? Take care, keep a smile on your face!
Steve

I am asking on behalf of a friend of mine who's 20 year old daughter had brain surgery 9 years ago, and was seizure free until recently :( Surgery/followup was performed in Wisconsin. My friend (and daughter) would like to see a neurologist located a little closer to home (Naperville) as well as to get a fresh opinion on seizure treatment.
