Re: [fast5] Update: Using Fast 5 After Major Surgery

Sorry to hear about the long healing time! But good experimenting, sounds like you are making good progress.

One thing I have found that helps with healing is heat ... if you have a heat pad, try it on the wound, at a gentle level. This increases circulation and bacteria actually die at a rather low heat, allowing the healing process to work.

Also I've used fresh aloe gel (from an aloe vera leaf) on wounds. It does seem to spur healing, although in the case of a surgery wound I'm not sure if it would be recommended or not.

So back in Feburary I asked peoples opinions on doing Fast 5 after major surgery.  I use Fast 5 to help control my allergies, although I'm not strict with the window, I do have to at least fast 15hrs for it to help.  Anyway at that time I was only 5 weeks post op.  I was having a lot of issues with my body rejecting the stitches and spitting it out.  My iscisions just weren't healing well because of it. At least the general conscensus I got and what I felt, was well try it and see how things go.

Well I tried it from Week 5 - Week 8 post op, so for 3 weeks. Although my body stopped spitting stiches and it did help with some of the pain I was experiencing.  I was just tired ALL the time.  Not tired like I wanted to sleep but just didn't have any energy.  So I went back to eating breakfast for a few weeks.  And out popped more stitches instantly. I've also been extremely tender still with quite a bit of pain. So this week and last I tried it again but not everyday, just a few times, and things are better.  So far this week I've done it everyday. I'm still pretty sore, but some of the swelling is finally starting to go down, and my scars are actually looking pretty fantastic.

So as long as my energy level stays up, I'm going to continue to try this. And it just may be were I don't do it everyday just every other day or every couple of day.  It could be a coincidence of course too.  I am after all 13.5 weeks post up, so who knows for sure, but looks promising anyway.
