Carol, I know the feeling of one's own physical health affecting their job(I don't express myself much, either). Then those same health issues' being used against the employee.
In 1989(two years prior to signing the ADA into federal law in the U.S.), I was fired from a job(data entry at a collection agency), for being too slow(are there actually levels of 'slow', that won't get a person fired). I had only been working at the job for three months'. I have largely been seizure-free for the last 35+yrs., but my epilepsy hindered my eye-hand coordination.
The irony in that job was, the guy who hired me, was fired for embezzlement.
Discrimination specific to people with Epilepsy, doesn't just happen in employment. It also happens in potential relationships. Even law enforcement has killed people having a seizure, because they couldn't 'control' them. Both epileptics and diabetics having seizures, have been the recipient of 50,000V, just because law enforcement is poorly trained on the signs of a seizure.
I guess I am venting now.

Subject: [epilepsy] I just need to talk
Hello everyone,
I know I don't express myself very much, but I need to talk to my friends. My job at my family business has been limited due to the
fact of my ability. Knowing of my situation they limited my duties I
use to do. Now, they have given my duties to someone else. Sometimes
I have to take a few days or maybe a week due to my seizures. I am so
distraught that I am trying to take this in acceptance. Thank you all
for letting me vent.
Carol
