[epilepsy] Re: Post surgery effect on memory

I also had LTL Surgery, Twice in Fact, and it took a lot out of my Short
Term Memory.

I can rememberthings from when I was a kid, and it amazes my Parents that I
can remember things that far back! But trying to memorize things right now
is very difficult!

I found Repetition is the key! Just like practicing your lines in a show,
or singing a song over and over until it becomes embedded into your Brain.
However, there still are drawbacks.

I sing in a Men's Barbershop Quartet, and with every song we sing, I have to
ask the other guys "How does it start?" and from the moment I hear those
first words, my memory kicks in and I'm fine with the rest of the song.

Face Recognition is good, but trying to put a name to that face is very
difficult unless it's someone I hang out with a lot. So Repetition proves
to be useful once again! Maybe that's what you need to try?
