Personally I have had success with marijuana used medically, which is a better term than MMJ as all MJ can be used medically. There are hundreds of different strains that may help many medical conditions. Some strains are just better suited to help control seizures than others. A low "THC" with high "CBD" seems to work the best. Although I was "recommended" here in Az.(it's illegal federally so it can't be prescribed) since we have a MMJ law here, I have been using it for over 30 years, along with a prescription med. Back in the 80's they had anti-drug commercials about how brainwaves were "flattened" by smoking MJ. I asked my Dr if MJ would flatten normal brainwaves, then it should help to lessen spikes that happen during seizures. He said maybe, so I tried using some during an "aura" and the feeling went away without the usual following seizure. I told my Dr. and he said if it helps, do it. Due to federal laws, not much real research has been allowed to be done on Mj in this country, however the Israeli's have done quite a bit with very promising results, especially its use with children with epilepsy. This link gives a little more info. I'm not suggesting anyone break any laws to use marijuana, replace any existing meds, or use without consulting a Dr.

Has anyone or known of a friend prescribed - medical-marijuana?
lot's of information out in many states if approved, thou not personally known of someone using it for - epilepsy.
