[epilepsy] Re: medicine dose change

I was seizure free for 12 years after abt 30 years - with initially Tegretol & then Keppra added. However Keppra is not cheap and when generic Keppra was prescribed I had problems - this may have been incompatibility, sensitivity to slight dosage variations, getting older, or just bad luck - who knows.

The Keppra dose was more than doubled with little effect and after 5 or 6 years of instability I was weaned off the Tegretol during the spring which was replaced with Zonisamide.
Touch wood this has done the trick - it's far too early to be sure but I have been a couple of months seizure free
Medication does not cure - it just controls.
