[epilepsy] Re: Revised Information For Casting For Life Chaning Show

From Executive Producer Ryan Seacrest and World-Renowned self-help expert Paul McKenna

--------------------------
I don't know if anyone has brought this up before and excuse me if someone has, but please do some research on Paul McKenna and know what this will be.

Paul McKenna is a hypnotist and teaches self hypnosis techniques to reduce stress, anxiety, and behavior issues. Now those can relate to seizure disorder and could be a factor to some triggers. But this is a HUGE but in my mind, I don't want to see this show spun as 'watch Paul McKenna cure seizures'.

My point being that I have had some dealings with the media ( newspaper and tv) and every time, EVERY TIME, they get stuff wrong, they present the issue or some of the facts wrong. So while you are very excited about getting your issue more attention, that isn't what the production company or writer is interested in.

I am NOT saying do not do this. Please understand. I do think that this might help. My son did biofeedback and it did help him learn to relax, reduce some stress, and I prompt him when I think he is starting to stress that might ( who knows, it is all anecdotal) go to seizure. Many people with seizure have similar things they do. Paul McKenna has had tv shows in the past in the UK and here in the US. I think he had one on TLC or one of those cable networks. He is a great showman. But know what you are getting into. It is kind of like reality tv, everyone thinks oh I will look great and everyone will see what a wonderful person I am, but hey we all see, not everyone looks like a wonderful person on reality tv. Why? Cause that doesn't make great tv. Now this is to make Paul McKenna look great. That is the main focus of this show.
