[epilepsy] Switch to Depakote?

 

Our daughter has been down to 16 - 23 GM's per month. Doctor does not feel
Trileptal is any longer helping. He's weaning her off it and onto Depakote.
She will remain on Lamictal XR and Depakote. My concern is the extraordinary
long list of side effects ( other effects) of the depakote. He feels it to
be worth trying to get better control. due to its efficacy. I wonder though
about the side effects especially in an 8 yr old. She starts today, feedback
on experiences with it and how long ago appreciated much. Pat D.
