Welcome to the group. I have complex partial seizures and they are in the
left temporal lobe. I have been on both kinds of medicine. The Lamictal I
took for awhile and done good on it, but after they started increasing the
dose I started getting a rash and had to have my medicine changed. The Keppra
I have been on for years, since it first came on the market. My neurologist
switched it to Keppra XR is doing fine. I have not been able to get my
seizures under complete control, but since I have been on it, they are a lot
milder than they used to be. Every medicine has side effects, but besides
being a little moody every now and then, the side effects were not that bad.
I hope you get the right medicine to work for you. Take care.
