Uggie, that's I also (hey, I'm a grammar "nut", only my problem started in college. In high school, I didn't have to study (it wouldn't have done any goot anyway. I'd forget everything I read, but I remembered everything that was discussed in class and could usually add some interesting observations which impressed the teachers. In my third year of college, though, everything fell apart. Granted I was majoring in mathematics in which I wasn't doing particuarly well, but was acing a lot of my other courses.
(Once you get to fifth semester calculus with a professor who wheeze with a British accent and he had us order a book which had been out of print for ten years, it's understandable that no one in the class did well
I'm having a terrible time typing right now, so I say good-bye, but do keep in touch.

Yes that is my daughter. Even in school - Jr in high school. She can know
how to do something in study hall and by the time she gets to test in next
class has forgotten... .. She keeps telling me - Mom I just wanna give up!!
Any suggestions for her as my heart is breaking for her.... Yes she is in
tutoring - but not helping at all. Currently out of 5 classes is failing 3.

Does anyone else in the group have troule with their memory. I mean, REALLY
bad trouble. I can hear something one minute and forget it the next. I
suspect that's that's the reason I had to drop-out of college.
