[epilepsy]

Hello Everyone,

We haven't participated in the group in quite awhile, but I've read some recent posts about Keppra and wanted to ask a question of all you wise people...

Our 10 1/2 yr. old son, Wyatt (some of you may remember) has been having seizures since he was 3 (undiagnosed except to say originally grand mal then tonic/clonic generalized, partial/complex & myoclonic), well his seizures changed from grand mal to the above about 2 yrs. ago. He went from a badly prescribed (over the phone) three day trial of Topamax when his seizures changed to adding Keppra to his Depakote (which he has been taking for years now). His episodes are more frequent and last longer, but they are not grand mal. My question is have any of you experienced such a change in your seizure type, could it be related it to the meds? Are any of your seizures "ambulatory" type? Wyatt is very active during an episode...his entire body is involved and sometimes he is upright and walking! In fact, one doc. says she isn't convinced they are "seizures but wants him to continue on the meds.! I related a change in his seizures to possible puberty onset, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks for your support!

Karen
