[epilepsy] Re: just a question

Megan has had seizures while on the computer, but we have never been
clear on whether that's because the computer triggered the seizures
or because she used to spend the vast majority of time ON the
computer. She tells me that if she spends a few hours on the
computer, it will start to bother her, but it's been several years
since she had a seizure while at the computer.

Megan has had seizures twice that could be attributable to strobe
lights, but each time there was another contributing factor. The
first time, she was at her senior graduation party, which is an all
night thing, so she was up until three or four when the seizure hit.
The other time she had forgotten a dose of meds, and as soon as she
hit the dance floor, well, she hit the dance floor:) There were
strobes in both cases. I haven't had her experiment with strobes
under more favorable conditions, but I do know that when they do her
EEG they use a strobe during part of it, and it shows she has
sensitivity to the strobe light.

I think if your little girl was reacting to the light and having a
seizure due to that, she would have it right during the exposure to
the trigger, not three hours later.

Take care,
Tammy
