Hi Jason,
It would be interesting if they would do studies for the
effectiveness of cannabidiol alone in controlling seizures. Since it
is short acting, from what you have told us, I would think it
wouldn't be as effective as many of the meds currently on the market.
It might have fewer side effects, but I don't think anyone has ever
studied it, so we don't really know at this point.
My husband had cancer almost 15 years ago. No conventional oral meds
controlled his nausea during chemo. The only conventional meds that
worked was a combination of IV Ativan and IV Zofran. After trying
several meds, the doctor finally gave Marc Marinol, which is the
effective ingredients from pot in pill form. It worked. Marc said it
didn't so much cure his nausea. It more or less made him not care,
but the point is that it helped when nothing else did. He was no
longer worshipping at the porcelain god all the time.
I really think that the government should stop being paranoid about
the fact that marijuana is a reacreational drug and start looking
into how it can be used to help people. That said, smoking it all the
time isn't the answer. You can't really function while being high all
the time.
Take care,
Tammy
