[epilepsy] Re: eegs

Seizure disorders do not always show up on EEg's or MRI's. You can also schedule a longer EEG. I have heard others say they have done EEG's as long as 7+ days. My husband just had an extended EEG of 6 hours, and the next step will be a 24 hour EEG. We have realized that you have to do your research (just a google search will do) before goign to the Dr., because they for whatever reason neuros dont seem to believe their patients until they have had many many seizures. This has been our expeirnce at least. We did our research a little this time and went in telling them what we expected and what we thought they symptoms meant. Sadly, we had a different, but better experience. You have to be a Dr. yourself now days! Sad!! Good Luck!

Just a friendly reminder: Please remember to sign your post and remember to clean up messages when you reply to them.  This is especially important if you are on digest.  This not only helps out the list owner but, it makes messages much easier to read when they arrive in our inboxes.
