This morning on the Today show ( ch. 4 here in LA) there was a mention of Prince but it had to do with Michael Jackson being in competition with him. The story was regarding the Rolling Stone Magazine due to hit stands this Friday and according to the reports, Mike wanted to do 50 shows to beat Prince's record of 21 nights and top it off with having a big celebration in getting in the Guinness Book of World Records because of it ( something to that effect). They also said Mike was not as feeble as people painted him and made quite a few enemies on his road to preparing and doing these 50 shows. And i know i wasn't just hearing things because while talking about how Mike wanted to beat Prince they had clips of the "Fury" video playing. The most interesting thing to me was the first thing i thought of when i heard the report was when a while back Prince was quoted saying something along the lines of " no one is going to beat my 21 nights record unless i break it myself." And i hate to admit it but when i heard Mike went from doing 10 shows to 50 i said " This isn't healthy for him and he will quit before the 50 shows are over and if not, Prince will be doing 51 next year to top it".. I just wish death wasn't anywhere in the equation :-(

It was a very interesting news piece and I'm not sure if it'll be up on ch. 4 NBA website or anywhere else but it was only about 5min long.
