Hi Adrienne,
Memory problems are common with epilepsy. AEDs (seizure meds) can also cause memory problems. After many years of seizures, scar tissue builds up which can cause memory and/or speech issues. What I'm saying is that the memory problem can be caused by a life of epilepsy and/or your meds. I haven't discovered anything to really do about it. I mention my memory issue to my neurologist, and he just kind of gives me the cold shoulder; telling me that it's just a characteristic of epilepsy.
Tristin :)

I was diagnosed when I was 15, I am now 38.I had 2 grand mal seizures last Nov. about 4 hrs apart. It took me a week before I felt back to normal. Since then, I can't seem to hold an idea in my head for more than 10 seconds.
My question is, do you think it's possible that my brain will recover at all? I was planning to go back to work in a year when my son goes to school, but I can't imagine being able to with my memory this way.
I do not have health insurance right now, and money is tight or I would be going to the Dr. about this.
Thank you for any help.
Adrienne
