That's a tough one. I've found myself forgetting what I wanted to say or remembering what occurred but often realize this is only in my working, i.e. short term memory. Quite often after a minute or two or even hour, it comes back to me. I don't know why it works like this and it isn't always timely but the mind is a powerful tool. Vocabulary is often my downfall. I wish it was stronger and remembering some of the words people use when speaking to me is my most frustrating aspect of communicating as I don't always understand.
I don't have a good answer for you but I do use a dictionary a lot. As an engineer, I'm also not so convinced that this is all related to my EP. Being left handed and more mathematically inclined I have learned I process information differently than many and that may be a weaknesses of my self vice my SZs. I admit, after a SZ is the worse time when I have memory issues I attribute to my EP but we all may be too anxious to blame our SZs and medication on memory issues when they may not be that much of a factor. Something to think about. Bottom line is find a way to compensate that works for you and use it as a strength. Any handicap works this way. For the blind, their hearing becomes much more acute and helps them get around day to day. We're no different. Best of luck.

Hi Clifton,
How do you deal with your weak memory in simple conversations with others? How do you deal with two thoughts on your mind that causes you to not being able to absorb allot of what was said? You can't make audio tapes of every sing conversation? Its simply frustrating and in ways smile at my poor memory but still, I always wonder what it would be like not having a good memory, just an average memory. Take care, keep a smile on your face!

I back up all these photos every month and keep the hard drive in a fire proof box in the basement. At the end of each year I delete all the backups except the last one. This allows me to use the hard drive longer and most of it is a duplication. Should I loose the computer at any time, I will have it. I also do this with other laptops family members have to make sure their photos or other work is saved separately.
