Re: [epilepsy] Keppra and Alcohol

For me it only takes a sniff of anything and I am in la la land. One time at nieces wedding took one sip just
to do and whew I was out to lunch for the rest of the night with a seizure in the morning as went home and
taken meds on top of that.
Should of done like hubby and ordered grape juice as he doesn't drink but everyone told me one sip would be
ok. Never again.

I don't drink very often.... I mean rarely. I take Keppra and Tegretol, and I've read that Alcohol can cause
your meds to be less effective. I've never heard of it making someone taking AEDs sick though. It's never made
me sick; then again... I've never gotten "drunk."

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the group. I had my first seizure 4 years ago. I just turn 50 this year. I.m on Keppra. Over the
4th of July weekend I had 2 wine coolers. The next day I was very sick and had a temperture of 103.3 I also
had chills. My question is this has anyone ever had a reaction to alcohol with their meds?
