When I started Lamictal, I went cold turkey on alcohol for a year and a half and lost 43 lbs. I excersed alot too. since then I have 1/2 decaf coffee and some alcohol w/ no problems as of yet. If symptoms reappear you can be sure I'll pull the plug on all the above.
It sure is a nice day in Wisconsin.

I don't drink very often.... I mean rarely. I take Keppra and Tegretol, and I've read that Alcohol can cause your meds to be less effective. I've never heard of it making someone taking AEDs sick though. It's never made me sick; then again... I've never gotten "drunk."

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the group. I had my first seizure 4 years ago. I just turn 50 this year. I.m on Keppra. Over the 4th of July weekend I had 2 wine coolers. The next day I was very sick and had a temperture of 103.3 I also had chills. My question is this has anyone ever had a reaction to alcohol with their meds?
