Re: [epilepsy] For women only

My mom said that she could see a change every time she was getting ready to cycle or when the moon and the waves alaigned just right.  I thought she was just crazy but I found out shewas not.  But I do not remeber her adding or upping the dose during that time.

I take 1000mgKepprax2 and 125mg Lamictal x2.  I was taken off Tegretol (because bad liver profile) at a 2 week stay in hospital and given Ativan for the change over to new meds.  The Keppra and Lamictal make me agitated and sleepless.  My trough levels are normal.  I do take .5mg of Klonipin at night to spleep.  It has done wonders for my mood and ability to sleep. I still keep a script of Ativan to take after seizures to calm my brain.  Haven't had to take it in months; thank God.

Has anyone ever heard of increasing dose during the cycle?

My doctors last suggestion was adding Xanax then. That is not an epilepy medicine so is not something I will agree too. Is he just blaming the increased seizures on what he thinks is an emotional/mental cause (and I don't) or does Xanax really help with seizures not caused by stress or things like that?

I used to have problems with depression. I wonder if he doesn't believe I'm ok now and wants to blame everything on emotional causes.

Is it possible to increase Lamictal only then? Are there anti-seizures that you can take only then?

Thanks,
Uhura
