I understand excatly where you are coming from. My father has had seizures since he was 11 and I always recall that at anytime when we had a dog they were always right by my father when he would have an episode. They would be right there by him even before it would happen. They say that they can sense those things.
It was good to have that since sometimes he would go to the basement and have an attack we would hear the dog barking and we would know to go. My parents last dog would even lay rignt next to my dad and keep him on his side. This coming from a dog with no training. Weird how things work. I just wish my parents could find a dog like that again, since now in his later years his seizures are getting worse. The VNS is not working even as well as we were made to believe it would.
Good luck,
Ericka

I have had seizures for at least 11 years and just this past four months
our dog nearly knocks me down if I am going to have one.I think he knows he will get a treat and fakes it some times but most of the time he is right but it really scares me when he does this.
Between the medications I take and the VNS I should be thankful that the dog can sense this but it does scare me a bit.
