Hello, Korky.
I have also had enceph, however, mine was caused by overexposure to the chickenpox virus while being an elementary school librarian. We had an epidemic of chicken pox leaving sometimes 4-5 students to a class. I was run down and because of my exposure to so many cases I had an overexposure to the virus. Extremely unusual. My mom still tells everyone I was bitten by a mosquito. My neck hurt so bad I couldn't take my hand off of it followed by fever. Thank goodness she was there when I had my 1st sz. then med, for 1 yr. NO SZ for 10 yrs. then STRESS = Grand-Mal. I thought about surgery, but .... not now. I'm sorry you had to go thru so much. I can still drive, but won't--too scared. I'm in my 50's, too. Meds every day..Lamictal and Keppra work for me. It's something frightening to live with, but we will do it as long as we keep stress down and healthy, physically.
