yeah i read 27 also- and i think it was on a documentry disc on the 20year anniversary double dvd for purple rain.. i could be wrong but some people say guitars are diffent- i know a base player taking lessons to learn how 2 play electric, ect.. maybe each guitar is counted seperatlty? (i.e. base, accoustic, electrik, ect).. but i wouldnt be suprised if he picked up a few new ones- i myself cant even name 27!!!

And can someone please tell me what they are?  I know he plays guitar, piano, drums...but what are the rest?  The first biography I ever read said he plays 27 instruments, but that's been about 25 yrs or some ago...I'm thinking there's probably more than that by now.
Any light y'all, my purple friends, can shed on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
Has anyone heard from Mike yet?  I'm pretty concerned about this.  I don't get into the discussions much, but I do get messages emailed to me and I've really missed Mikes witty comments, and serious responses.
