Unfortunately I have found that I have high blood sugar and really cannot eat any sweets or starches anymore.. But in the old days I would make things with nuts, nut flour or coconut flour in place of the grains. I would make homemade ice cream ( 3 egg yolks, 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1 T arrowroot and 3 cups heavy cream, preferably fresh, unpasteurized or use canned coconut milk). Chocolate pudding, baked custard. Ok, Ellen and Heather… What kind of desserts do you make (IF you make…) that are not made w/wheat or grains?
Since we have lots of berry bushes here I make a berry crunch with a mixture of blueberries, blackberris and raspberries.
