RE: [epilepsy] using the bathroom or shower

while I don't have seizures like you experience I do have MS and fall quite a bit. I have 3 children and lots of kids in and out of my house at all times.

I keep the door unlocked and have never had a problem with anyone busting in on me. If i fall i want someone to be able to get in there and help me. I use a shower chair sometimes too because sometimes I can't stand up long enough to shower and the heat makes my legs weak. I hate taking a cool shower so the price I pay for the heat exposure is weakness in my legs. My BIL has the same problem. He has MS and falls mostly in the shower. He keeps the door unlocked too so if something happens no one has to break the door down.

I also keep my cell phone wiht me at all times. I know with a seizure your out of it and can't call anyway but its good to have with you so that when you do come around you can call for help.

Subject: [epilepsy] using the bathroom or shower

i am looking for some opinions.i live with my brother his wife and stepchildren, and there are 3 bathrooms in this house so they are able to use theirs.i know that it is common to lock the door when using the bathroom or shower, but when i (having epilepsy) use my bathroom,i leave the door unlocked as a precaution for the possibility that i might have a seizure while in there.what opinions do you have on this matter?
