We go to the Blue Bird Clinic at TCH.  I demand lab work.  My mom has a seizure disorder also and I can remeber as a little girl when the doctors did not check yer levels and she got very ill.  But about my daughter and her levels how do they know when the dosage is correct if it is not being monitored.  They do have to increase it as they grow and get bigger.  Her Nur pulls out her little cheat chart and goes by weight and size to make sure everything is up to par.  The last Nero did not check levels and when we started he did not check labs but when we changed clinics she was not getting enough for her weight and she was having seizures still.  We have now gotten Diastat for break through seizures last longer then 5 min and cluster seizures.  I am sure the school district will love that.

Her levels were checked for Keppra? My son's neurologist said there is no need to check the blood for the Keppra because it is mostly out of his system in 24 hours. I'm just wondering if we should have his blood checked. It wouldn't be any big deal, as he already has his blood drawn every three months for his diabetes.
