My son is on generic lamictal. He has been on for about 3 months now, and we did not see any difference between the name brand and the generic. Hope this helps.

My husband used to take brand-name Lamictal - but wow, it made him so extremely dizzy he couldn't even stand. His neurologist lowered the dosage.. but it didn't work out..
Now he's on brand name Topamax (generic: Topiramate); it's been GREAT he says.
As we all know... drugs work differently for each person.
