Melatonin is what we have in our brains..usually it's a shortage of it that causes sleep problems..My husband who has Epilepsy has taken it and it didn't cause him seizures..ativan is also excellent to relax those who have seizures. But to be absolutely safe I would seek another medical opinion.

Does melatonin help epilepsy patients if used on an occasional basis? My son has seizures if he doesn't get enough sleep and this is what his doctor suggested he use to help him sleep. I heard that it could actually cause seizures and I wanted to know how safe it is before I give him some.
