When my son started on Lamictal, we were also warned to watch closely for any sign of rash. Fortunately, he didn't develop one and the Lamictal definitely gave him better seizure control (he was siezing 3-4 times a week, now he only seizes a couple times a month).

I was told when my daughter was on lamictal that any rash that begins o the trunk or the torso is an allergic reaction. My daughters doctor removed her from the lamictal right away, but they wouldn't let me give her an antihistamine.

Subject: [epilepsy] Lamictal rash?
Hi I am new to the group. My daughter is 4, she has a seizure disorder and we just started Lamictal. Today we noticed a rash on her torso, we called the Neuro and they want to see us first thing in the morning. I did some research on Steven Johnson Syndrome but my daughters rash seems more like baby acne than the pictures I saw about SJS. Does anyone hear have any experiance with rashs and lamictal?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! !!
