I would not recommend this to everyone but you may want to check with your doctors. When I wake up and have a bad feeling or had a seizure the previous day, I sometimes take an extra pill in the middle of the day to provide additional protection. For me I think I build up a level of the chemical activity that causes me to have about one seizure a month. If I know this time is about to occur and I feel like one is going to come, I will take this extra pill. I don't do it often and like everyone can't afford to use my medication up too early. I know I have had experiences, mostly while in college, where people react that they want to give me a pill when a seizure occurred. It doesn't work that way but my thought is to give a boost to the blood level for my medication during this period. I recommend checking with your doctor to determine if this is appropriate for your situation. It is not so much to avoid having a seizure but to
minimize it when it does occur and come out of it more easily. Just a thought. We are all different and it may work for some not for others and may not be something your doctor will approve of you deciding on.

Millie,
Yes I do take medicine everyday. I take Keppra and Neurontin for seizures
and Buspar for anxiety. I just meant that I don't take anything before a
seizure when I know I am going to have them. The seizures happen so fast when
I realize that they are going to happen.Except for when my neurologist takes
me off the medicine for hospital observations, I never miss a dose. Take
care.
