Through my 53 years of having it, through all the Drs Hospitals and states I've been to, I have always heard, there is no cure. Even after its well under control, you're still considered an Epileptic, just an epileptic whose seizures are well under control. It is not a Disease, just an irregular nervous system. Disease is the wrong word and it makes it seem contagious, etc...
The measures to cure it are simple, You and your Drs try to find the right medicines, and you may have to change your eating habits and lifestyles a bit. I've gone from as many as 9 per week to 1 every 2 months. I have realized through my Drs of 17 hospitals that because each of us are different, and have differnt triggers we have to figure out what our triggers are and then start from there. What triggers my seizures is mostly getting constipated, the pressure on a nerve in my bowel causes them. And in the last 20 years that has been the main trigger. In the past getting Angry, Highly Excited about something, Deeply Depressed, doing something too fast and getting Stressed, very Tense, and being put under pressure all were triggers. How did I deal with that. I no longer do things that will cause overexertion, I don't argue with others and get mad and angry, I have slowed my pace down, and I live a more cool, calm and collected life now instead of the hyper one I used to and it makes a big difference. I eat a different diet so that I rarely get constipated also.
My nephew also born with Partial Complex ignores the fact that he has epilepsy and had played football and gotten a Scholarship to college and graduates soon. My brother never told his son that he was handicapped or disabled so that he didn't do any psychological damage, but it's different for everyone. Don't get too upset, depressed or angry, just take the time to find the right solution for yourself
