Hi Elizabeth,
Know your visit with doctor is tomorrow but just noticed your
note. I have only nocturnal seizures for 12 years now and my
drug is presently Lamictal 200mg, twice daily. I have been on
the Depakote previously along with many of the other drugs too,
ones like dilantin, phenobarbital and others. I began seizures
when a teenager, and post surgery for this twelve years ago,
seizures changed from day only, to nocturnal only. I hope the
doctor tries something that is super successful with your son
and please let us know how it goes tomorrow.

> My 11 year old son has been on Depakote for about seven years for seizures. As he has matured his seizures have taken different forms. For the past four years he has had night time seizures, a long drawn out tonic/clonic episode about every three nights. His behaviour on the Depakote was crazy- he was always beating his head against something, always raging, and still having seizures. We got with his neuro and have now weaned him off Depakote. He is back to his own sweet self, YAY! His seizures have not increased in intensity or frequency so far. We meet with his neuro on Wed. and I am just curious about what other meds some of you might be taking that are giving relief with night time seizures. Andy is learning disabled and non verbal so he can't exlpain to us what he's going through.
> Any thoughts would be appreciated!
